Nkarta Therapeutics is a private biotech startup that leverages the power of Natural Killer cells for next generation cellular immunotherapies for cancer. NK cells play a key role in the immune system, identifying and killing abnormal cells as well as recruiting the adaptive immune system.
Nkarta is combining its NK expansion platform technology with proprietary cell engineering technologies to develop allogeneic cell therapies for the treatment of challenging diseases with significant unmet clinical need.
We are currently offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated development associate with viral manufacturing experience to join our team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the Process Development team to develop a robust and scalable process for upstream and downstream production of clinical retrovirus-based viral vectors

Evaluation and implementation of novel process technologies

Support process optimization efforts to increase process robustness, reduce costs, and improve viral yield and purity

Identify opportunities to improve systems and practices

Design and execute experiments independently; accurately record, analyze and communicate data to senior staff and team members

Present results in team meetings and deliver presentations to both small and large groups
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS in biology-related discipline and 4-8+ years of laboratory experience, MS in biology-related discipline with 2-6+ years related laboratory experience, with preference for candidates with virology and biopharmaceutical industry experience

Extensive experience with molecular biology and cell culture

Preferred experience with production and analytics for large-scale viral manufacturing

Previous experience in development environment is strongly preferred

Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and writing skills for documentation of data, drafting of technical reports, and communication of progress to supervisor and project teams

Must be able to communicate and multi-task within a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment with a high degree of self-motivation and organization
