COMPANY INTRODUCTION:
Nkarta Therapeutics, Inc.is a private biotech start-up that is harnessing the power of Natural Killer cells in developing next generation cellular immunotherapies for cancer. NK cells play a key role in the body’s immune system, able to identify and kill abnormal cells by monitoring their expression of activating and inhibitory receptors and recruit the adaptive immune system.
Nkarta will combine its NK expansion platform with further proprietary cell engineering technologies to build differentiated products designed to tackle challenging diseases with significant unmet clinical need.
We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst/Manager to join our Finance team. Title will be determined commensurate with experience.
SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst/Manager is responsible for managing the financial and budget aspects of its growing clinical pipeline. The Financial Analyst will join Nkarta’s Finance and Accounting team and interface closely with Nkarta’s clinical development staff. This position will report to the SVP Finance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop solid understanding of Company’s clinical strategy and operations to support budgeting and accounting for clinical trials

Drive the annual clinical budgeting process in collaboration with the clinical development and finance teams

Review contracts for outsourced services and manage processes for accurate accounting and related payments

Ensure timely, accurate and complete recording for clinical trial prepaids and accruals, associated reconciliations and month-end close support with appropriate documentation

Interface and support external auditors, internal controls and audit teams and executive management

Participate in meetings with project management, clinical trial team, CRO, sites and database providers to understand trial status, including current and upcoming issues for financial and accounting impact

Provide reports to management and clinical staff

Other related duties, as assigned
Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting

5+ years’ experience in clinical trial support
-
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting, required
-
Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information for completeness and accuracy excellent attention to detail; excellent organizational skills

Strong communication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levels internally and externally – within and outside of finance. Ability to tailor communication to the audience to achieve desire results

Demonstrated history of identifying problems, researching and recommending resolutions

Strong time management with the ability to work independently and in a group setting
