NK cells play a key role in the body’s immune system, able to identify and kill abnormal cells by monitoring their expression of activating and inhibitory receptors and recruit the adaptive immune system.
Nkarta will combine its NK expansion platform with further proprietary cell engineering technologies to build differentiated products designed to tackle challenging diseases with significant unmet clinical need.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Executive Assistant/Office Manager, you will be working closely with our CEO, the leadership team and interface with the research staff to drive & support business management processes across multiple levels of the organization. You will have the opportunity to broaden your experience with the operational needs of an early-stage biotech startup. The position will coordinate several diverse tasks/projects at the same time and have a significant responsibility for key processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong grasp of computer software and technology, with the willingness to develop skill sets in business planning, acumen and operational support. The individual will be a motivated self-starter with a high level of commitment, ownership, and strong sense of urgency.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Support
- Provide support to Executives and Senior Managers with projects/tasks on an adhoc basis including booking travel, expense reporting, scheduling meetings and coordinating interview schedules for key roles
Finance & Accounting
- Review invoices and requisitions for payment approval
- Keep track of all payments such as purchase orders, invoices and statements
- Provide purchasing services for the scientific staff, track delivery receipts and expense reports through Procurify or similar purchasing software
- Manage payments to vendors - Work with our controller & CFO to ensure accounting software is up-to-date with the latest financial information
Office Management
- Create and manage culture programs and team bonding activities including biweekly lunches & provide order placement support for happy hours
- Nurture the Nkarta office culture and environment to keep employees happy and productive
- Welcome office visitors & maintain the professionalism of reception area
- Ensure new hires are set up for their first day - work with the hiring manager to organize new hire’s desk space needs & additional applications
- Maintain well-stocked kitchen area and track of supply inventory; manage purchasing and vendor relationships for our office, food, building managers and janitorial staff
- Ensure the Nkarta office space is kept organized and presentable; follow up & deliver on workplace support questions and requests
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- At minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in Business Operations or Office Management,
- Experience with executive support is strongly preferred
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Office 365
- Strong problem-solving skills analytical capabilities, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all deliverables
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to multitask with strong time management skills
- Ability to respond well and adapt quickly to changes
- Experience recognizing needs, solving problems, and anticipating issues
- Willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
